Rixty Expands Prepaid Cards To Kmart, JCPenney, Kroger

Rixty, which provides alternative payments for online games and virtual goods, is rolling out Rixty-branded gift cards to Kmart, JCPenney, Kroger, and Kroger Co.-owned stores. The company says it's the only third-party card certified as compliant with the Children?s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

Its prepaid cards are already available at Kroger locations -- including Ralphs, Food 4 Less, Fred Meyer and others -- across the United States, and will begin appearing in Kmart and select JCPenney stores by Thanksgiving, in time for consumers looking to buy holiday gifts for holiday gamers.

The company specializes in alternative payment solutions for users who prefer to buy digital content for social games, MMOs, and other online destinations without a credit or debit card. Its services allow users to buy credits across multiple social networks and games.

Rixty is best known for allowing consumers to purchase virtual currency using real cash and coins at over 20,000 locations across the country, including 10,000 CoinStar machines. Users can even purchase Credits, Facebook's universal virtual currency, through Rixty.

"We designed the Rixty prepaid card to make giving online entertainment easy, flexible and convenient," says Rixty CEO Ted Sorom. "With hundreds of supported sites, gift givers can feel confident that the Rixty card will be the right choice for their loved ones."

He added, "We are proud to expand the convenience of our product with cards in Kmart, Kroger, and JCPenney stores just in time for holiday shopping."
